LTINDAG-Hope Houses Altindag is the oldest slum in the capital of Turkey which is Ankara . It has a 150 year old history and culture; at the same time is responsible for the creation of the concept of a slum town. From the initial time of creation it has been considered the home of people of all ethnical identities such as notorious, tough guys and mobsters, gamblers, prostitutes working at pavilion, lovers carrying their musical instruments (saz) over their shoulder. workers that were in the streets early in the morning. Poor and working Turks, Kurds, Armenian, Jewish, Gypsies, Alevis (shies), Sunni citizens all managed to live together as a community in the slums without any racial and religious discrimination. 

According to many people this slum town is a very rough place however from 1970-1980 detached itself from these illegal criminal activities and it went through significant reforms within itself. Altindag attracted singers such as Neset Ertas, Asik Mahsuni Serif etc.. and it has been the main subject in the books of well known writers such as Yilmaz Guney… 

This documentary talks about 150 years ago; how Altindag was created, the social reforms that occurred at that time and why it was destroyed under the common changes in society and how they were manipulated under a fake social project that was supposed to help them but it did the opposite. The people who are present in this documentary have actually lived through this events and have first hand experiences of them.
